FAQ

Q> “This sounds great, even compares favorably to {XXXX…}, how much will it cost?”
A> You tell me what it’s worth by purchasing by July 4th and giving what you think it should be/what you can afford.  I can’t be fairer than that, so please be fair with me…

Q> “Will you sell all plugins like this?”
A> I will establish the cost by taking the average price paid during this period.  After that I will develop and sell plugins at this price point.  I won’t start rushing them or taking shortcuts with the product though so if the price I get is too low, I guess I can’t continue.  If some folk think the plugins are worth much more than the average (and pay that higher price) I’ll give them credits for future plugs.  So please move quickly to purchase if you want to have your say in the future of EricSound Plugins.

Q>  “I’ve tried the demo and it seems to only work at 44.1/48kHz, can’t you make it do xxxkHz?”
A> the full licensed version of the plugs work at all common sample rates up to 192kHz, the demo is limited.  This is about the only limitation of the demo, once you are happy with the sound at 44.1/48kHz and performance on your DAW please purchase the license (again you decide the price).

Q> “You mean I can demo this for as long as I like without paying you?”
A> Yes, there are no time-outs, audio beeps/drop-outs, pop-ups etc.  The only difference is the visual water mark on the gui and the limited sample rate, apart from that it’s the same as the full version and you can ‘demo’ for as long as you need to.  If you like it, use it or want me to carry on making more plugins, then please purchase.

Q> “I can’t wait for to see what’s next, are you doing a {insert processor type} /can you do a {insert famous outboard device}?”
A> Thanks, the next plugins are in development, I can give no time scale or product name, but might just recognize the sound from a certain classic device –I’ll leave that to you… Also if you have requests let me know I'd love to know what you want turning into a sensibly priced high-end plugin ;-) *

Q> "The EQ plugin doesn't work in {inset host name here}"
A> First, check you're using the latest version of the plugin, they currently support the VST 2.4 format for PC and Mac, which should make them compatible with all current VST hosts including VST3 (cubase4 etc.) although I can't test them all, so far we should have:
Cubase
Nuendo
Sonar
Reaper
Soundforge
Live
Orion
Samplitude

You can test the demo versions for as long as you need before making a purchase. Email me at if you find any other problems/bugs during the demo and I'll see what can be done, thanks.

Q> "I've tried using the plugin with a VST>xx wrapper and it crashes"
A> The (really cool) FXpansion wrappers don't currently support VST 2.4 which is being used for the EricSound plugs for a number of reasons, mainly compatibility with newer VST(3) hosts. Work is underway on other versions of the plugins but I don't have a time on that yet, keep watching...
